Some lucky Missouri college student - making noise and having fun on Twitter during the Super Bowl - has landed a date with Canadian tennis star Genie Bouchard.

With the Falcons holding a big lead over the Patriots Sunday, Bouchard tweeted that she "knew Atlanta would win".

She looks shell-shocked in a photo she tweeted Monday.

The Patriots went on to win 34-28 in overtime, and credit to Bouchard, she didn't run from her promise.

Lampard's best: the top five moments in a glorious career
The midfielder who is still Chelsea's highest goal scorer received a lot of good wishes from his former mates, coaches and teams. I am forever grateful for the support of my family, my wife Christine and my two daughters Luna and Isla.

You could wag your finger and warn about never betting on Falcons before they've hatched, but who could you blame Bouchard?

But one of her 996k followers, @punslayintwoods, took the chance to bet against Falcons and asked Bouchard for a date if Patriots won. Hopefully Genie learned her lesson.

"Sure", Bouchard replied on Twitter, only to watch as Tom Brady guided his team to one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history.

Then the reality of what she had done set in.
