Nokia 6 Starts Receiving Android 7.1.1 These Days

With leaks becoming a norm these days, the latest victims include what looks to be the Nokia 8 and Nokia 9.

If you already own Nokia 6, you can check out for the update in the software updates section. The recently released smartphone ran on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. An online user going by the alias of "NokiaPowerUser" distributing images of an outline draws for what most likely seem, by all accounts, to be the Nokia 8 and the Nokia 9 handset devices. In it, it introduced the new Nokia 3, 5 and 6, however, one of the things that caught attention was the promise of the company to update their phones nearly instantly.

Secondly, the OTA brings along improvements in terms of power saving and background management.

One important thing to note is that Nokia 6 joins an extremely small number of devices running Android Nougat 7.1.1 with official support from smartphone makers.

Not only does it upgrade the phone's OS to Android 7.1.1, but also adds support for 4G/3G dual sim dual standby. It also updates Nokia USB driver and version of pre-loaded applications.

Trump said to back US-led bid for World Cup 2026
As the 2018 and 2022 World Cup were allotted to Russian Federation and Qatar, no Asian and European countries were allowed to bid. The officials said the three-country bid would save money and help each country promote football at home.

Global customers will receive the device, preinstalled with latest Android 7.1.1, in the second quarter of the year.

The update began rolling out to Nokia 6 units over the weekend, so it might be available for most Nokia 6 units by now. Also, the Android 7.1 brings Daydream VR mode, new developer features, and the manual storage manager.

According to The Android Soul, the update for the Nokia 6, which is only being sold at the moment in China and a few other markets, is just 369 MB.

Besides, the update also installs the April's security patch on the smartphone which needless to say, gets rid of security vulnerabilities, if any, and brings along bug fixes and overall system improvements.
