Majority in US No Longer Thinks Trump Keeps His Promises

The poll, which was conducted on April 5-9, shows that only 45 per cent of Americans believe that Trump "keeps his promises".

In the two months since, however, Trump appeared to walk away from repealing the Affordable Care Act after Republicans failed to agree on the healthcare replacement bill that Trump stood behind. The percentage of Americans who disapprove of Trump is nearly unchanged at 54 percent, compared to 56 percent in February. Two months ago, 53 percent said they believed the president could bring about changes the country needs, but 46 percent say the same now.

Most Americans disapprove of the job Donald Trump is doing as president, with a near historic number of respondents in Gallup's daily tracking poll saying they disapprove. That is down from 62 percent who answered in the affirmative back in February.

Most Americans do not think Trump is "honest and trustworthy", the poll found. Supporters have expressed unhappiness that more has not been done on taxes and immigration, in addition to healthcare.

Peacekeepers from Bangladesh, Brazil, Jordan, Nigeria and Uruguay have also faced allegations in Haiti. The UN resolution hailed the elections in Haiti as "the major milestone towards stabilization".

"Still 'strong and decisive"'Strong and decisive leadership" is the only characteristic in the Gallup survey for which a majority of United States adults (52 per cent) still give Trump positive grades. The poll, which was taken on Friday, asked 1,500 American adults what they thought of the job Trump was doing as president.

Most Americans have viewed Trump unfavourably since before his inauguration and continue to do so almost 90 days into his term in office.

Of course, the numbers for that characteristic could still shift for Trump as his presidency continues. Forty percent of women think Trump carries out his promises compared to 51 percent of men, while 81 percent of Republicans vs. 16 percent of Democrats said the same.
