It would be perfectly safe for Williams to continue with rigorous training throughout pregnancy, but how quickly she would return to tournament tennis was uncertain, the researchers said.

Serena Williams has announced on SnapChat that fiancé Alexis Ohanian are expecting their first child.

Congrats on the wonderful news!

The photo features Williams in a bright yellow bathing suit that reveals her tiny baby bump.

Serena Williams is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, 33.

This means that Serena, who won a record 23rd Grand Slam in Australia this January, will miss most of the remaining tennis season.

Sharks come home to face Oilers for Game 3
The only time the Sharks held a lead in the series was when Karlsson scored in overtime for the Sharks in their 3-2 win in Game 1. In fact, they did it quite handily as the Oilers doubled up the Sharks in shots 36-16 in their complete game effort on Friday.

Williams added, "But by choice".

A spokeswoman for Williams confirmed late Wednesday that the tennis star is indeed a future mother. However, save the occasional photo on Instagram, the two haven't discussed their relationship publicly.

The Australian Open was her last competitive match, as in March she pulled out of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells and a WTA Tour event in Miami.

Williams, 35, is already known around the world for her dominance of women's tennis, but pregnancy would make her even more likeable in the eyes of the wider public, experts in the sponsorship industry said. That didn't go over so well in the sports world, to the point where the Women's Tennis Association condemned the remarks and Tarpischev was banned from the women's tour for a year and fined $25,000.

Williams, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, has been romantically linked in the past to Grigor Dimitrov, Patrick Mouratoglou, Amar'e Stoudemire, Hosea Chanchez, Jackie Long, Common, Colin Farrell, and Drake, among others.

Former world number one Victoria Azarenka of Belarus, 27, won the Indian Wells and Miami titles in March of previous year before missing the rest of the season after announcing she was expecting a baby in December. Still, at the time, she was much more focused on the Australian Open.
